This variety is the result of clonal selection aimed at selecting elite specimens from the traditional Romanian grape population Coarnă neagră. The work is being carried out by specialists at the Murfatlar station to increase the typicality of the variety and the quality of table produce.

Selection goals include improving the appearance of the bunch, the texture of the flesh, and aromatic properties. Currently, the variety is at the stage of variety testing and evaluation of adaptation to the climatic conditions of the Dobruja region during multi-year field trials.
