The variety was obtained by crossing hybrids Seibel 6150 and Seibel 5455, containing genes of Vitis aestivalis, Vitis berlandieri, Vitis cinerea, Vitis rupestris, and Vitis vinifera species. Maturity group is mid-late. Bushes have medium to high vigor and require attention during training. Clusters are large, dense, and elongated-cylindrical. Berries are small, round, dark blue, almost black in color. Foliage turns a red hue in the autumn.

The variety is high-yielding and productive. It possesses resistance to downy mildew and tolerance to phylloxera, however, it is susceptible to anthracnose and blister mite infestations. Winter hardiness is higher than that of Vitis vinifera varieties, but remains partial. It was widely cultivated in France in the past and is found in North American plantings.
