The variety originated from a natural seeding in the Ardèche department in the 1970s. Genetically, it is the product of a cross between the Grenache and Aubun varieties. The plant is characterized by very high vigor and the formation of strong trunks.
A wine variety with black berry skin. The tips of young shoots have a low density of prostrate hairs; young leaves are green. The variety is included in the official registers of France and the European Union.
