Corvinone is an autochthonous variety, long considered a clone of the Corvina variety, but genetically recognized as independent. The vines are characterized by high vigor and perfect flowers. The leaf is rounded or pentagonal, five-lobed, deeply dissected.

Late-ripening variety with high yield. Clusters are large, conical, winged, loose. Berries are dark blue, medium or large, slightly oval in shape, covered with bloom, and have thin skin. The variety is susceptible to downy mildew, but has good drought tolerance.

The grapes are used in blends to create wines with a fruity taste, pronounced tannins, and freshness. Due to the structural characteristics of the berry and skin, the variety is well suited for drying in the production of Amarone and Recioto style wines.
