The vines have medium-strong to strong growth with upright shoots and weak formation of lateral shoots. The leaves are medium-sized, 3–5-lobed. The clusters are medium-sized and have shoulders. The berries are medium-sized, round, covered with dark blue skin, and the pulp is characterized by an intense red color.
The variety belongs to the mid-late maturity group. The yield is about 150 c/ha with the need for load regulation by pruning eyes. The variety exhibits resistance to winter frosts exceeding that of the Portugieser variety. The resulting wines are characterized by full body, high tannin content, and saturated color.
