Vines are characterized by vigorous growth and high energy. Clusters are medium-sized; berries are large, round, and greenish-yellow in color. The variety is early-maturing and possesses good disease resistance.

The primary purpose is the production of sparkling and dry white wines, characterized by high acidity and notes of green apple, pear, citrus, and herbal undertones. The variety has aging potential.

It originates from the Canary Islands. Historically, it was widespread in Andalusia, but after the phylloxera epidemic at the end of the 19th century, the main plantings were preserved on the islands of El Hierro and Tenerife.
