This variety was obtained by crossing Leánka and Tramín červený to improve aromatic potential and reliable crop ripening. It belongs to the medium-early maturity group: berry softening occurs in the first ten days of August, and physiological maturity occurs in mid-September.

The technical variety is used for the production of dry, semi-dry, and semi-sweet white wines. Wines made from it have a light yellow color, a medium level of acidity, and a pronounced aroma with notes of roses, muscat, citrus, and spices.

In a number of sources, the variety is sometimes mistakenly identified with Feteasca Albă, however, in specialized Slovak literature, Dievčie hrozno is considered an independent breeding hybrid.
