Drupeggio is a historical indigenous grape variety cultivated primarily in the Tuscany, Umbria, and Lazio regions. DNA analysis has confirmed its identity with the variety Canaiolo bianco. To date, the variety is classified as rare, and its use in nurseries is limited.
The variety possesses pronounced ampelographic variability, which has historically caused confusion in identification. The plant is used exclusively in winemaking, serving as one of the components in blends for the creation of white wines.
