The variety is of ancient origin and is grown in the Veneto region in the Lessini foothills. It is a wine grape variety used for the production of sparkling wines via the traditional and Charmat methods, as well as still and dessert wines. The vine is characterized by vigorous growth and late ripening.
The flower is hermaphroditic. The leaf is medium-sized, slightly dissected, usually three-lobed, with no pubescence on the underside. The bunch is medium-sized, cylindro-conical, and of medium density. Berries are round, yellowish-green or golden in color, with tough, thick skin and juicy flesh.
The variety has a high and stable yield, and is distinguished by its lack of pretentiousness and resistance to diseases. The traditional training system is the pergola. Wines from this variety are characterized by high acidity, a fruit-floral bouquet, and mineral notes.
