The variety is a form of grape with pink-colored berries, which arose as a result of a genetic mutation. DNA studies confirm the identity of the variety to the base Fernão Pires, with the exception of the genes responsible for color.

The plant belongs to early-ripening varieties and is characterized by vigorous growth and high yield. The flower is hermaphroditic, and the clusters are of medium size. The leaves are dark green, pentagonal, and three-lobed.

The variety is susceptible to powdery mildew and water stress, which can cause berry shriveling. Wine from this grape is distinguished by its aromatics with floral and fruity notes; however, due to the low acidity level, monitoring of harvest timing is required.
