The variety is a clonal rootstock obtained by crossing Teleki-Kober 5BB and Vitis vinifera. Its primary purpose is the protection of scion varieties from phylloxera and the adaptation of the vine to specific soil conditions.
The plant exhibits very vigorous growth and good rooting ability. The rootstock is characterized by increased resistance to active lime content in the soil compared to Berlandieri x Riparia group rootstocks, as well as drought tolerance.
