Variety description

The variety Fleurtai (synonym UD. 34-111) is an interspecific hybrid obtained by crossing the varieties Tocai Friulano and Kozma 20-3. Its genome includes Vitis vinifera and, in small proportions, other species of the genus Vitis. The vines are characterized by strong or medium vigor with an upright shoot growth habit.
The variety belongs to the early maturity group: full berry maturity occurs at the end of August or the beginning of September. Clusters are medium-sized, conical, and of medium density. Berries are golden-green, oval, with thin skin and tender flesh of neutral taste.
The plant possesses high resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew, as well as good resistance to Botrytis cinerea. Frost resistance is down to -23 °C. Wines from this variety have a soft taste with notes of white flowers, pear, almond, and tropical fruits, and are recommended for consumption when young.
