The Fogoneu variety is a local heritage of Mallorca and belongs to the species Vitis vinifera. It is a rare and niche variety that is currently being actively restored as part of projects to preserve the autochthonous biodiversity of the region.

Wines made from this grape are characterized by a light color, low color intensity, soft tannins, and good acidity. Their aromatic profile features notes of cherry, wild strawberry, as well as herbaceous and mineral nuances.

In winemaking, the variety is most often used as a component of blends, especially in combination with the local varieties Callet and Manto Negro. Detailed data on agrobiological characteristics and disease resistance in open sources are limited.
