The clone was selected during research work in Hungary to improve yield stability, product quality, and to obtain virus-free planting material. The designation T. 92 relates to the place of origin of the breeding material, which is the town of Tarcal.

As a clone of the Furmint variety, T. 92 inherits its primary biological characteristics, including mid-late ripening periods in mid- or late October. The plant has a predisposition to the development of noble rot, which is an important condition for the production of dessert wines.
