Clone P.26 was identified during a breeding program at the Research Institute for Viticulture and Enology of the University of Pécs. Its primary objective was the improvement of biological and economic qualities of grapes intended for professional winemaking.

The plant belongs to late-maturing varieties. In microvinification trials, the clone shows a high content of aromatic components in the berries. In specialized publications, the clone is also referred to as "Hólyagos Furmint", which is associated with the morphological features of its leaves or clusters.

The clone is officially registered in the National Variety List of Hungary. Specific data regarding disease resistance or vegetation characteristics for P.26 are not distinguished in the literature as different from the base Furmint variety, as cultivation agrotechnics are determined by the general characteristics of the species.
