Kotsifali is a vigorous plant with hermaphrodite flowers, belonging to early-mid ripening varieties. The variety forms dense, medium-sized bunches with small berries that have thin skin.
The plant has high yield and good shoot maturation. It is susceptible to downy mildew and gray mold, which requires agrotechnical control. Genetically, the variety is identical to the Korfiatis grape.
The grapes are used for the production of wines with high alcohol content, soft tannins, and low color intensity. Due to its characteristics, the variety is often used in blends to give the wine structure and aroma, and is also used for the production of single-varietal wines.
