Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety traditionally originates from the mountainous regions of Crete, specifically from the Selino province. Genetically, it is a clone of the Muscat family, distinct from other Greek representatives of the group. It adapts well to various soil types and growing conditions at altitudes of up to 600 meters.

The bunches are medium-sized, cylindrical or cylindrical-conical in shape. The berries are small or medium, spherical, covered with a thick skin of golden-yellow or greenish-yellow color, and the pulp is juicy. The variety has high susceptibility to downy mildew, powdery mildew, Botrytis, and the European grapevine moth.

Wines from this variety possess a pronounced Muscat aroma with notes of jasmine, apricot, melon, and citrus. Due to its balanced acidity and structure, the variety is suitable for creating both high-class dry and dessert wines.
