The variety is the result of a natural crossing of Muscat Blanc with an unknown parent variety. Vines are traditionally trained as low bushes to protect them from wind and drought. The plant is well adapted to hot climates, however, it shows susceptibility to Botrytis and other types of rot.

The grapes are cultivated mainly in the Macedonia region, particularly in the mountainous areas of Siatista and Pella. The resulting wines are characterized by a light ruby color, moderate to high acidity and soft tannins, featuring notes of cherry, raspberry, spices and earthy undertones.
