The variety is of ancient origin from the central part of the Peloponnese and is traditionally associated with the Mantinia region. The plant features vigorous growth and high productivity. It is well-adapted to high-altitude conditions at 650–700 meters, which helps maintain berry acidity.
Bunches are of medium size and consist of small, thin-skinned berries. Skin color varies from pinkish to pinkish-purple, however, the variety is classified as an aromatic white grape. Wine made from it is characterized by medium or light body and intense notes of roses, violets, lychee, and spices.
