The variety belongs to the Muscat group and is genetically identical to the Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains variety. Historically, the name Moschato Mazas was used in Greece; the variety is also known by the name Moschato Kerkyras.

The grape is versatile: it is used for the production of high-quality dessert and sparkling wines, and is also suitable for fresh consumption. The morphological characteristics correspond to the Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains variety, including the presence of small, round berries.
