Variety description

The variety has ancient origins and is primarily cultivated in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. The pink-colored berries are gathered in large, conical, fairly dense clusters with a wing. The leaves are medium-sized, wedge-shaped.

An important biological feature is the presence of a functionally female flower type, which requires the mandatory presence of pollinator varieties. The variety is considered difficult and demanding in cultivation, characterized by low and unstable yields due to problems with berry set and shatter.

Due to its thin skin, the variety is extremely susceptible to gray mold and sour rot. The harvest matures in mid-to-late September. Wines from this variety are characterized by a high sugar content and an intense aroma combining notes of fresh roses, spices, and wild berries.
