The variety is a hybrid created by breeders Koleda István and Korbuly János. The genetic basis of the variety includes grape species such as the East Asian Vitis amurensis and the Irsai Oliver variety. It is intended for use in winemaking for the production of red wines.
Morphologically, the variety is characterized by medium-sized leaves, pentagonal in shape, with three lobes. The petiolar sinus is closed, V-shaped, and the underside of the leaf has arachnoid pubescence. The variety is classified as resistant, is noted for its high winter hardiness, and is grown on limited areas.
