The Perun variety is the result of breeding work by specialists at Mendel University in Brno. It belongs to the category of varieties resistant to fungal diseases, which allows for reduced pesticide use in organic viticulture. The vines are characterized by high vigor and fertility.
The clusters have a loose structure, which contributes to disease resistance. The variety is intended for winemaking, including the production of sparkling wines. During trials, the sugar content of the berries reached 24°ČNM, and the organoleptic properties include muscat notes and hints of gooseberry, black elderberry, or blood orange.
