Variety description

The variety is characterized by low yield and requires long pruning. Leaves are medium-sized, five-lobed. Clusters are small, compact, conical or cylindro-conical in shape. Berries are small or medium, round, turning a whitish-yellow color upon ripening.

The variety is quite susceptible to gray mold and is demanding regarding growing conditions. In winemaking, it is rarely used as a varietal wine, more often serving as a component in blends with Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng, Arrufiac, or Sauvignon Blanc varieties. Petit Courbu differs from the Courbu Blanc variety in morphological leaf characteristics.
