The technical variety Pinot gris 34 Bl is the result of breeding work on cloning. The clone has a stable ripening period and is characterized by a stem content of about 18.09% in the total bunch mass.
The plant is susceptible to black rot (Guignardia bidwellii), with the degree of infection in trials amounting to 30.60%. The variety also exhibits sensitivity to climatic stresses caused by a combination of heavy rainfall and high temperatures.
