Chardonnay is a wine grape variety with medium vine vigor. The period from bud break to technical maturity of the berries is approximately 138–140 days with a sum of active temperatures of 2700–2800°C.

The variety is not resistant to downy mildew and powdery mildew, and requires prevention against gray mold. It is relatively frost and drought tolerant; however, due to early bud break, it is susceptible to spring frosts.

The berries are medium-sized, greenish-white with a golden hue, juicy, with thin skin. The variety is used exclusively in winemaking for the production of still and sparkling wines.
