A mid-season maturity variety; the harvest in northeastern Italy occurs in early September, which is approximately 10 days later than Pinot noir. The plant is characterized by high vigor and a horizontal shoot orientation, performing best with Guyot training.
Bunches are of medium or medium-large size, conical, and moderately loose. Berries are of medium or small size, spherical, and dark blue in color with thin skin. The yield of the variety is medium or above average. The variety possesses high resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew, but is susceptible to grape erineum mite.
A wine grape variety for wine production. The aromatic profile includes floral notes of rose and hints of red fruits and spices. Due to its high anthocyanin content and high-quality tannins, the wine is suitable for medium and long-term aging.
