The variety is an interspecific hybrid resulting from the crossing of Seibel 5656 and Rayon d’Or. The plant has high vigor, well-maturing canes, and hermaphroditic flowers. Clusters are of medium density, cylindrical-conical in shape, and weigh from 150 to 220 g. Berries are medium-sized, round, white-yellow in color, turning a golden hue upon ripening, with thin but firm skin.
The variety belongs to the medium to medium-late maturity group. It possesses increased resistance to frosts down to -28°C and tolerance to phylloxera, while maintaining high resistance to fungal diseases. The yield of the variety is high, which requires load regulation to maintain berry quality.
The wine variety is primarily used for the production of dry white wines with fruity aromas and mineral notes. Due to its characteristics, the variety has become widespread in cool-climate regions, including Canada, the northern US states, and Great Britain.
