Nebbiolo is an autochthonous Italian variety with an ancient history. The name "Spanna" became established for it in the Novara and Vercelli zones. The vines of the variety have medium vigor and require specific growing conditions, preferring sunny slopes with well-drained soils, such as gravelly or volcanic soils.
The variety is classified as late-maturing; harvest often falls in late October. It is a demanding variety in terms of care, which does not tolerate excessive yields well. Wines made from it are characterized by high acidity, pronounced tannins, and a complex aromatic profile that develops during aging.
