The Syrah variety is of French origin and is the result of a natural crossing of the Mondeuse blanche and Dureza varieties. It is a wine grape variety intended for the production of red wines.
The plant belongs to mid-late varieties, with the ripening period depending on climatic conditions. Wines made from it possess deep color, high tannin content, and aromas of blackberry, black pepper, and spices. The variety is demanding of growing conditions and terroir.
