Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is an autochthonous Austrian grape obtained as a result of the natural crossing of the Traminer and St. Georgen varieties. It is a technical crop used exclusively for creating white wines, the characteristics of which vary from fresh young to complex aged specimens.

The variety requires careful control during cultivation and at harvest time due to the risk of Botrytis cinerea infection under adverse weather conditions. The plant is sensitive to climatic factors, and its development directly depends on the vine training system used.

Wines made from this grape are distinguished by high acidity, minerality, and an aromatic profile that includes notes of white pepper, citrus, green apples, and stone fruits. With prolonged aging, honey and nutty tones appear in the bouquet.
