The variety is a hybrid obtained by crossing Seibel 4668 and Seibel 6905, and contains genetic material from Vitis lincecumii, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera species. The vines are characterized by vigorous growth and high fertility. The flower is hermaphroditic.
The leaves of the variety are medium-sized, round or kidney-shaped, entire or three-lobed. The clusters are cylindrical in shape, ranging from medium to large. The berries are dark blue, round or ellipsoidal. Technical maturity is reached two weeks after the Chasselas variety.
Wine from this variety has moderate color intensity and contains diglucoside-anthocyanins. The variety is sensitive to fungal diseases and requires grafting. It has often been used in breeding to develop new hybrid grape forms.
