The variety is an interspecific hybrid involving Vitis riparia and Vitis labrusca. The bushes are vigorous, and the ripening period is 110–120 days. The grape is distinguished by exceptional winter hardiness, withstanding temperature drops down to -30°C on a trellis and down to -46°C under snow.
The clusters are cylindro-conical, dense, with a weight of 100–250 g. The berries are small, rounded, dark blue in color with thick skin and mucilaginous flesh. The sugar accumulation of the fruit is 20–22 Brix.
The variety shows high resistance to powdery mildew and anthracnose, however, it is relatively susceptible to downy mildew. It is used as a technical or universal variety for the production of juices, compotes, and blended red wines.
