The variety is a mutation of the Veltliner variety. The berries have a pink, pinkish, or reddish skin tint, which manifests towards the end of the growing season. The variety belongs to the group with a medium vegetation period and is considered demanding regarding growing conditions.

Wines from this variety are characterized by fullness and harmony, while retaining their qualities even with high yields. With incomplete berry ripening, peppery or herbaceous tones may appear in the taste. The variety is suitable for the production of still and sparkling wines.
