The variety belongs to the species Vitis vinifera and has the official international name Asswad Karech. Synonyms such as Xerichi mavro, Xerichi Noir, or Xerichi are also found in literature.
The berries of the variety are black in color, and the flower type is hermaphroditic. The variety is used for wine production and as a table grape; however, detailed agronomic characteristics, including maturity timing, disease resistance, and growth parameters, are not described in open reference systems.
