The variety is an autochthonous European species. Genetic research has confirmed its origin from the Traminer (Savagnin Blanc) and Österreichisch-Weiß varieties, with its primary point of emergence linked to Transylvania or Austria.

The plant has a medium or slow growth rate. Leaves are small, rounded, and resemble geranium leaves in shape. Clusters are small, cylindrical; berries are medium-sized and retain their green color even at full maturity.

The variety is relatively early, ripening in September. The crop is demanding in terms of growing conditions and is characterized by high susceptibility to rot and fungal diseases. With proper care, the variety allows for the production of harmonious white wines with subtle acidity and a delicate bouquet.
