The plant is vigorous. Clusters are large, conical. Berries are dark purple, round in shape, medium-sized, and covered with thin skin. The variety is identical to the Croatian variety Crljenak kaštelanski and the Italian variety Primitivo.

A distinctive biological feature is the uneven ripening of berries, where both underripe and overripe fruits are present in the same cluster simultaneously. The variety is susceptible to bunch rot and prefers a warm, dry climate.

The grapes are exclusively for technical use. Due to high sugar accumulation, it is used for the production of red wines with an alcohol content of 14 to 17%, as well as semi-sweet rosé wines.
