The variety has ancient origins and is multi-purpose: it is used as a table grape, for the production of raisins, and for a wide range of wines. The letter "B." in the name stands for "Bianco", indicating the white color of the berries.

Bunches are large, pyramidal in shape, with oval, golden-yellow or amber-colored berries with thick skin. The variety is demanding of heat, sensitive to high humidity, susceptible to downy mildew and powdery mildew, and prone to flower drop during unfavorable weather during the flowering period.

The produce has an intense muscat taste and aroma due to the high content of terpenes. The variety is characterized by genetic variability; there are various biotypes and color mutations.
