Variety description

The variety is indigenous to the coastal region of Croatia and the island of Krk. Genetically, it originates from an unknown variety and the variety Vulpea. The vines have medium vigor, and the shoots ripen well. The leaf is five-lobed and deeply incised.

Clusters are medium to large, conical or cylindrical in shape, and medium-dense to dense. Berries are medium to large, round, and yellow-green or straw-yellow in color. Productivity is high. The variety is sensitive to late spring frosts due to early bud break.

Resistance to downy mildew is medium, and to rots is weak. The variety is sensitive to powdery mildew and grey mold. In winemaking, the variety is used to produce dry, light or medium-bodied wines with a golden-yellow hue and mineral, floral, and fruity notes in the bouquet.
