Variety description

The variety forms pentagonal five- or seven-lobed dark green leaves with felt-like pubescence on the underside. The bunches are characterized as large, medium-dense and branched. The berries have a dark blue, almost black color, medium size, round shape, thick skin and a distinct waxy bloom.

The grape belongs to wine varieties used in traditional blends, but can be used as a table or ornamental grape. The resulting wines are characterized by lightness, noticeable acidity, soft tannins and fruit notes of raspberry, cherry and wild berries.

The plant requires yield control. In terms of resistance, the variety is classified as sensitive to low temperatures, as well as to downy mildew and powdery mildew. The most famous representative of the variety is the "Old Vine" in Maribor, which is over 400 years old.
