The variety is a wine grape and was bred to achieve earlier ripening dates compared to traditional varieties of the region. Until 1999, the variety was known by the name Oremus, which was subsequently changed to avoid confusion with the vineyard of the same name.
The plant has high vigor and a tendency to form a large number of shoots, which requires thorough ventilation of the vine. The variety performs best on heavy clay soils and is capable of accumulating the high sugar levels necessary for the production of sweet wines.
Dry wines from this grape are characterized by aromas of green apple and pear. The Kt.4 index in the name denotes a certified clone of the variety that has undergone state registration.
