The variety has a hermaphroditic flower. The leaf is pentagonal, five- or seven-lobed, medium or deeply dissected, with medium to high density tomentose pubescence on the underside. Bunches are conical or cylindrical-conical, medium density, weighing from 250 to 400 g and more. Berries are medium-sized, round, dark blue, almost black in color.
The variety is late-maturing, ripening in the fourth period. It is characterized by resistance to pests, but is sensitive to fungal diseases, such as downy mildew and powdery mildew. Due to early bud break, the variety is vulnerable to late spring frosts. It is grown primarily on trellises or pergolas.
The grape is used as a wine variety for the production of wines characterized by high acidity, soft tannins, and a fruity profile. It is most often included in blends for well-known Slovenian wines, and less frequently used for varietal wines or the production of sparkling wines. In small volumes, it can be used as a table grape or an ornamental plant.
