The duration of the period depends on temperature, moisture availability, and nutrient supply, as well as on geographical latitude and day length. Photoperiod sensitivity and weather conditions in a particular season can significantly influence the rate of plant development, changing the number of days required for the variety to complete all growth phases.
During state variety testing, evaluation is carried out by observing the onset of phenological phases in test plots.
