The variety is the result of hybridization and selection, with Early Jalapeno, TAM Mild Jalapeno, and Criollo de Morelos 334 in its pedigree. Plants form compact bushes 40–60 cm tall with green stems having anthocyanin coloration at the nodes.
Fruits are fleshy, about 8 cm long, and change color from dark green to red. The variety is characterized as early-maturing with a technical maturity period of 65–90 days. It possesses resistance to tobacco mosaic virus.
The main feature is a reduced pungency compared to classic jalapenos, ranging according to various data from 8 600 to 15 000 SHU.
