Violetta
ActiveFicus carica L. · Common fig
Plattner Anton
10 August 2026
The tree is characterized by vigorous growth, reaching 2.5–3 meters in open field, while the variety is well-suited for container cultivation. The fruits have an oval-pyriform shape, dark red jam-like pulp, and a pronounced honey-berry flavor.
Due to a tight ostiole at the apex of the fruit, the variety is less susceptible to pests and spoilage, which allows the berries to shrivel/dry directly on the branches. The harvest ripens from late August to September; the fruits are versatile in use and suitable for fresh consumption, drying, and processing.
