The plant forms a neat, upright, dense clump 20 to 40 cm in height. Foliage is evergreen or semi-evergreen, leathery, dark green, and deeply dissected. It is a sterile interspecific hybrid.

Flowers are large, up to 10–11 cm in diameter, cup-shaped, and directed sideways or upwards. Coloration varies from pastel pink to reddish-pink. The center of the flower is decorated with yellow stamens and wine-red stigmas.

Flowering is early: depending on the climate, it begins from December–January or from the end of February to April. The plant prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained soils. Sepals remain on the plant for a long time, maintaining ornamental appeal.
