GF 305 is a purebred representative of the species Prunus persica. Its primary purpose is to be used as a universal reference indicator when testing plants of the genus Prunus for the presence of viruses.

In scientific research, this variety is used as a control sample with known characteristics for comparing the resistance of cultivated peach varieties and interspecific hybrids with Prunus davidiana. GF 305 is not a hybrid and differs from hybrid forms in its biological properties.
