The M 9 T337 rootstock is a clone of M9 and is used for grafting apple fruit varieties. It significantly restricts the vigor of the scion, keeping tree height within 2.5–2.7 meters, which is 25–40% of the size of trees on seedling rootstocks.

The root system of the rootstock is superficial, so trees require permanent support throughout their life. The plant shows resistance to Phytophthora root rot, but is sensitive to fire blight, low temperatures, and soil waterlogging.
