The Pomme d'enfer variety, also known by the synonyms Noire d'Antras and Calvau noir, is a historical variety from the Aquitaine region, France. The tree is characterized as low-vigour. The variety shows resistance to aphids.

The fruits are small in size and have a dark-red or red-violet color. The variety belongs to late ripening periods; the fruit maturity period falls between January and May. The fruits are distinguished by good keeping quality and a pronounced aroma, due to which the variety was historically used for scenting rooms.
