The Askal variety tree is medium-sized with an architecture adapted for high-density planting, which ensures efficient use of sunlight and simplifies the process of mechanized harvesting and pruning. The variety exhibits field resistance to the fungal disease peacock spot.

The oil content in the fruit is 23.5–30%. The resulting oil has good stability, a high level of oleic acid of about 72%, and a balanced flavor with slight bitterness and pungency.
